Palouse Living

I love the crisp fall weather we’ve been experiencing this week. And how about that storm yesterday?!

This week, I’m excited to highlight some of my favorite fall activities. Share with a friend and spread the love.

Hey friend,

Fall is here. You can feel it in the air. And you know what that means?

It’s time for all your favorite fall flavors and activities.

Before we jump into some highlights on my favorite ways to spend fall in the Palouse, check out this photo!

This was one of the first dates Kellie (my wife) and I went on back in college at U of I. We went out to Garfield to Bishop’s Orchards to pick apples and make cider – a classic fall activity in the Palouse.

This was 14 years ago. We were just kids. But we met in the fall, so it’s always been a special time for us.

The Palouse is full of fun things to do during the fall. PSLs are out, the trees are changing colors, and my beloved Mariners are even in the playoffs. All I need now is a Big Train Chai from Bucers and I’ll be set.

3 Fun Activities to do in the Palouse this Fall

This is a great way to spend a couple of hours on a crisp Saturday morning in October. You can take the whole family out and enjoy roaming around the orchards collecting apples, and then use the cider presses to make fresh, homemade apple cider.

Nothing gets me in the mood for fall like fresh apple cider.

2. Catch a Scary Movie at the Kenworthy

Listen, I’m not much for scary movies. They creep me out too much. But I know some people LOVE them. I’ve checked out the lineup and The Kenworthy has picked some classics to show every Wednesday in October. Check them out downtown, Moscow. I love that we have a small local theater that shows older movies you probably wish you could have seen in theaters the first time they were released.

I might have to go check out Jaws. That’s a horror movie I really enjoy.

You can find out more on their website at Kenworthy.org

3. Fall Festival at Buck Canyon Barn

For the longest time, I didn’t even know this little gem was tucked away just north of Colfax on HWY 195. But I’m telling you it’s one of the coolest spots in the Palouse. It’s easy to miss it. They only operate their fall festival for one weekend at the start of October.

Come enjoy food, family-friendly fun, and live music this weekend. October 4 and 5.

Check them out on Instagram for more information @buckcanyonbarn.
